Description
Apartment Arancio is located in via dell’ Arancio just beneath
the historic Torre delle Ore (one of Lucca’s climbable mediaeval
towers and key tourist attractions). It is in a quiet and elegant
side street just off the bustling via Fillungo. Located on the
first floor above ground (second floor American style) this apartment
is tranquil and quiet, but close enough to be only seconds from via
Fillungo, Lucca’s most famous shopping street.
The apartment is entered directly into the sitting room which is huge. There
is ample space for a large and comfortable lounge suite suitably
positioned near a flat screen TV, DVD and everything to keep you entertained. There is a giant Persian rug which links the sitting area with an antique dining suite. This
room also houses a new, state of
the art kitchen. The all white and stainless steel kitchen has
the latest SMEG appliances and everything conceivable to create memorable
gormet meals. The blend of old and new continues as the room houses
a stunning 19th centry Tuscan walnut sideboard alongside antique prints and contemporary original artworks.
Two sets of French doors open onto the amazing terrace which is truly
the feature of this apartment! This pair of doors enhances the
flow between indoors and outdoors as well as flooding the apartment
with natural light when closed. Enormous by any standards (30 square
metres or 300 square feet), the terrace plays host to a large outdoor
dining table and chairs as well as a pair of sunlounges and a range
of terracotta pots brimming over with colourful flowers. Most
of the terrace is covered with a shade awning supported on a steel
pergola. It is partially uncovered for those sunlovers wanting
to enhance their tan.
The outlook from the terrace is amazing as it overlooks a small piazza
and a one story building on the long side allows extensive views onto
the typical Tuscan townscape. It is hard to imagine that you
would move far from the terrace for the duration of your stay.
The bedroom also has a window onto the terrace. It is very spacious
and features a 19th century Tuscan oak bedroom suite and the best of luxury
superfine linens and thick, large towells. There is also an antique sofa.
Leading off the bedroom is a study / office which is fitted out with
a Tuscan antique desk. There is high speed internet
connection as well as a phone point. It is the perfect spot to
combine a bit of business with pleasure. There is a large tripple
window that looks out onto the terrace. There is a large ottomon which opens out into a fully sprung single bed.
The apartment has 1.5 bathrooms both of which are brand new and only
installed in January 2007. The main bathroom features a glass
enclosed shower. There is also separate utility room which has
the washing machine and ironing facilities.
The apartment is fully air conditioned and heated. It is spacious,
light, bright and we genuinedly believe that it has the combination
of features to live up to the reputation of being “the best”! It
is a comfortable apartment for a couple and can easily accommodate
a family. There is a sofa bed in the sitting room, so it is possible
to have up to five adults share the apatment.
