This two bedroom apartment, located in the hills area of Sant' Alessio overlooking Lucca, is an independent guest complex constructed within the main villa but with private and separate entrance. It is approximately ten minutes drive from the walls of Lucca and combines the benefits of a country retreat with the close proximity to town. The silence here is almost deafening and only broken by birds and other wildlife. It is an excellent spot to relax, unwind and be at peace.

The apartment is set over two levels. Downstairs comprises one gracious and spacious sitting room with a kitchen and dining area at one end and comfortable lounge furniture at the other. The kitchen is fully equipped and has an ancient marble sink, hewn from a single piece of Carrera marble. There is also a washing machine in the kitchen. It is a huge room which opens directly on to a rose and wisteria covered terrace set up with a view to outdoor living, especially outdoor dining. There are amazing views of the gardens and the mountains in the background.

There is a small powder room at the foot of the stairs leading to the second level.

Upstairs are two generous bedrooms furnished with typical Tuscan antique furniture. The rooms are quaint and inviting and have lovely views over the gardens. One is set up with a large double bed and the other has twin singles. A bathroom comprising a bath and shower separates the two bedrooms.

The garden is extensive and is shared with the owners of the villa. There is a large swimming pool (newly installed in October 2004) with a large decking area perfect for taking in the incredible vista below. The view is over the Lucchese plains and from the elevated position, the olive groves, vineyards and spectacular Tuscan scenery is laid out before you seemingly for your personal pleasure.

The owners have two large, but gentle, dogs who love to roam throughout the garden
